The Services Science Global -- a non-profit research consortium*
1) Promote and disseminate research and applications among scholars and professionals interested in theory, methodologies, and applications in Service Science, Engineering and Management, which cut across the fields of services business strategy and modeling, operations research, information technologies, industrial engineering, management science, social and cognitive science, work force management, and legal science, etc. 2) Gain international visibility of the advances of the research in services research, development, and applications. 3) Provide public relations benefits. 4) Bring diverse international groups and individuals together (e.g., by sponsoring conferences, seminars, and informal focused topic roundtables) as a unified group to contribute to multiple education and promotion endeavors.

Service Science moved to the INFORMS publication suite in 2011. Service Science (http://servsci.journal.informs.org/) is now an official INFORMS publication. Services Science Gloabl as a non-profit organization has accomplished her original goal. As a result, Services Science Gloabl plans to be dissolved in 2012.
HIGHLIGHTS of current initiatives:
1) The SSG and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer
(IEEE) initiated International Annual Conference on Service Operations
and Logistics, and Informatics (SOLI) to provide worldwide
scholars and professionals a timely and effective platform
to exchange their newly findings, ideas, and experiences in
research on services sciences, management, and engineering.
The conference is the first one of its kind to provide such
a collective forum in a comprehensive manner for dissemination
of services research, and promote services sciences, management,
and engineering research worldwide, aimed at facilitating
the growth of this newly emerging inter-discipline from both
research and educational perspectives.
